It needs to WORK for me 24-7, 365 days a year - non stop and so I can make money whilst I sleep. As Warren Buffet says if you don't find a way to make money whilst you sleep, you will work forever.
It needs to be able to have a GLOBAL REACH, which means any day I can wake up, spent 30mins-60 mins placing ads and having GLOBAL REACH so people come to me and I'm not wasting my life energy doing 1:1 calls, meetings, demonstrations, etc.
It MUST leverage "A.S.M" Automated Selling Machines, kinda like what you're reading right now so I can sell without having to sell. This letter you're reading right now is a perfect example, people will read this and then pay THOUSANDS of dollars for my products and services. Imaging if you had the same thing ;-)
It must SOLVE a pressing problem in a marketplace where clients are willing to pay BIG bucks. In other words, it must be lucrative enough for a committed entrepreneur to build a 6 or 7 or 8 figure business.
It should not be too difficult to get access to all the information you need to develop the skill-sets necessary for success. This way I can literally train myself, my family members, anyone from 3rd world countries to operate the business so I can get more free time.
It must be able to create CASHFLOW ASSETS from DAY 1, this is my absolute favorite way of making money it beats stocks, real estate, crypto, precious metals and every other sort of investment in the world.
It should not be too complicated to set up (there is nothing wrong with complicated models but it isn’t ideal for most people). When I set up a business I'd like to get rolling from DAY 1 instead of day 100.
It should not be super risk prone (no business is 100% risk free as your results depend on your efforts but some business models are far more safer and lucrative than others)
And last but not the least, it should resonate with my passion (sharing great education) and gets you all excited to wake up each day to build your business and do anything that's required.

So there you go.

That’s one solid list, isn’t it? 9 steps.

Before we look into what options we have, I want to talk about 2 fundamental factors that are crucial for building an online business that can bring in a lot of money.

Profit Factor #1 - You Need To Enter A Big Market

...With Lots Of Competition .

This is probably contrary to the advice that you would get on most of the websites out there.

But this factor is crucial.

Most people might ask you to go for a small, non-competitive market because then, you will be one among the very few and it will be easier to get the attention of your audience and make sales.

While the advice is logical, there is a tiny flaw in this whole plan.

Why should a market be small & non-competitive?

It is because there isn’t much money to be made in it.

In today’s world, with information travelling at supersonic speed, if people are not flocking to a particular market in droves, what could be the reason?

The answer is as clear as a day.

Moreover, sometimes, non-competitive market can be even harder to break into if it has a major player whom everyone knows about and buys from.

If the pie you are eyeing is small and it’s already in the hands of a BIG kid, what are the odds you would succeed?

Now take a competitive market for instance.

Yes, the obvious drawback is that it’s competitive.

But consider the positives:

Positive #1 - Competitive Markets Are BIG

There is a LOT of money to be made targeting a competitive market.

Competitive market Big market = LOTS of customers = LOTS of opportunities to build a thriving business.

Positive #2 - Massive Market Data

Since there are lots of players, there is a lot of market data on what works and what doesn’t. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.

You can simply do market research and get a complete picture of what products are selling, which audience segment is buying it, which products produce the most profits, which kind of sales funnels work, which traffic sources work, what ads work….the list goes on.

Positive #3 - Plethora Of Sub-Niches

You will find a TON of sub segments inside a big market that you can cater to (if you want) and build a highly lucrative business.

Underneath the vast marketplace, there are a TON of opportunities waiting for you to be exploited.

Positive #4 - Big & Small Players Can Co-exist

The beauty of a BIG MARKET with heavy competition is that there is SPACE for all. If you know how to stand out from the crowd and sell your products and services effectively, you can make money.

Facebook started allowing advertising in 2008 and launched self serve ads in 2009.

So 10 years back, there were no ad agencies to manage Facebook Ad campaigns. But now there are tons of ad agencies which manage Facebook Ad campaigns for clients and take home millions of dollars in service fee.

Today, if you master the art of targeting the right audience on Facebook Ads and getting good amount of traffic, you can easily build a thriving online business with it:

You can start your own small ad agency and start getting clients (you can advertise on Facebook to get clients haha)
You can offer a “done for you” campaign setup service for businesses
You can start a coaching program to help business owners learn Facebook Advertising
You can generate leads for small businesses and sell each of them for a hefty price
You can promote affiliate products yourself for a commission

And this is one opportunity that didn’t even EXIST 10 years back. Today, this alone is big enough to help you create a 6, 7 or even 8 figure business.

With small markets, you will rarely ever get such opportunities.

Create Your Own High Ticket

Products & Services

The most reliable way to build a super profitable & sustainable online business is by creating your own products (like audio & video courses, interactive educational programs, etc) & services (like consulting, coaching, monthly ongoing services, etc)

When you have your own products and services to sell:

You get to decide the price of your product/service
You get paid upfront
You get to keep 100% of the sale amount
You get to BRAND yourself which can go a long way in helping you grow your business

I, for one, always tell people that they should eventually create their own products, services and build awesome companies that would truly impact people.

It’s definitely the end goal but when starting out, creating your own products and services and turning them into a full fledged business is not feasible for most people.

Why?

You need specialized skillsets to create

info products and services that you can

charge premium price for.

If you have that, then that’s great (we can teach you how to promote it successfully) but for most people, that’s not the case.

Sure, you can learn about certain concepts and strategies online and create a valuable $37 or $47 info product. But if you want create a $997 or $1997 info product (which you would need to make good profits), that’s just not happening.

Realistically speaking, a newbie will not have the required skillsets to create an info product that is worth the price.

And if he intends to create such a product, then he has to spend months or even years learning and perfecting a skill that would allow him to create a killer product. Same goes for services.

So I would not recommend this for you if you are starting out. The numbers don’t match up and it will be a huge task to take your business off the ground.

If you are skilled in a particular field that has a big marketplace with customers ready to pay you big bucks for your solution, then this option would be right for you.

Here’s the thing about this model:

This model is VERY lucrative but there is a catch:

You need extensive knowledge & skills in a particular field to create products and services that you can charge premium prices for (like $1,000 - $5,000+ for your info products and $2,000 - $10,000+ for your services).

Why do you need to charge premium prices? Because that’s how you can profitably advertise your business (as discussed earlier, the economics of your business must make sense).

Now if you ALREADY possess the required knowledge & skills to create premium products/services, we will show you how to TURN it into a super lucrative business that you would be proud of building.

If in case, you don’t have any such skills, you still can build a business using this model by simply learning & developing skills that are in demand in the marketplace.

If you are passionate about any niche (like fitness, dating, investing, etc), you can start doing extensive research on it, buy relevant courses, apply what you have learnt and gain the necessary skills. This works great.

However, there’s a chance you might NOT have a passion niche yet. And if you don’t, you might be overwhelmed by the countless options in front of you.

If that’s the case, then worry not, for I have a simple (yet powerful) solution for you.

If you want to grow any online business (regardless of the niche), you need to develop your digital marketing skills. It’s a necessity because without these skills, you will never be able to create marketing campaigns that can bring in the sales & profits.

The good news is that you can turn this necessity into a profitable business venture.

All you need to do is simply learn digital marketing (which you have to do anyway) and use your skills to create high ticket products & services.

Remember, there are so many companies, small businesses and solo entrepreneurs who are looking to grow their business online and they are willing to pay big bucks for the right solution.

You can cater to them and make a killing.

You can also start a digital marketing agency and provide services like:

Custom Sales Funnels
Facebook Ad Campaign Management
Youtube Ad Campaign Management
Custom Webinar Marketing Campaign
Copywriting
Content Marketing

And the list goes on.

You can get clients paying you a monthly retainer of $1,000 - $10,000+ (depending upon your service). As your business grows, you can hire competent marketers to work for you and scale your operations.

Once you have some experience under your belt, you can even create info products related to your field of expertise like

And the list goes on.

There are quite a few marketers out there who sell such info products for $1,000+ and they are doing very well.

Down the road, with enough experience and wins under your belt, you can even start your own coaching program and help your clients achieve their desired outcome.

If you LOVE this model, we will show you how to turn it into a profitable business in the subsequent steps.

Online Model 2

Product Licensing

If you are not interested in creating their own products or services, but want to have FULL control over the ones that you promote, there is always the option of Product Licensing.

In this model, you can simply license other people’s products and services and promote them.

Here’s how it works:

Step 1 - You find products and services with well developed sales funnels that are already selling well in the marketplace

Step 2 - You reach out to the owner of the products and ask him if he would be open to licensing his products and sales funnels to you for a fixed licensing fee for a specific time period. If he agrees, you can negotiate a deal with him and finalize it. Typically you would be required to pay an annual licensing fee (say $X,XXX or even $XX,XXX) for getting access to his products as well as rights to promote it. You will also have to negotiate what % of the product sales you get to keep (be it 50% or 75% or 100%).

Step 3 - Once the deal is finalized, you will have a complete business in a box (products and sales funnels) that you can promote, get paid for all frontend and backend sales you generate (unlike traditional affiliate marketing) and get paid BIG COMMISSIONS ($1000+ per sale for backend products).

Step 4 - You make profits. You scale your business. In the meanwhile, you can focus on gaining the skills needed to create your own products or services. Or if you want, you can try and renew your license agreement with the product owner for the next year too.

Product Licensing Is An Elegant And Powerful Model To Build Your Business.

It gives you TWO distinct advantages:

1. Since you have paid the licensing fee, the product owner does not have the rights to take down the product anytime he likes. So this gives you security.

2. You get paid big bucks ($1,000+) for the high ticket sales made by your licensed sales funnel. This works perfectly well with the economics of your business.

The only problem is that you have to find out good selling products, negotiate deals with product owners and learn how to promote them (aka send traffic) to get sales.

If you approach shady guys or don’t know how to strike up a good deal, then you will be in trouble.

Don’t get me wrong. Product licensing works and it will gain more and more prominence in the online world in the future, but it is not without its risks.

I wouldn’t recommend it for newbies. I would suggest you gain some knowledge about the inner workings of the industry you are in, know the players in it and then try to go for such deals.

Online Model 3

Traditional Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a solution for those who don’t want to create their own products or services.

Here’s how traditional affiliate marketing works:

Step 1 - You join an affiliate program which offers various products/services for you to promote.

Step 2 - You choose the product you wish to promote.

Step 3 - You start promoting it and get commissions for every sale you make. You can make anywhere from 20% to 75%, sometimes even 100% (I will explain how this is possible shortly).

There are 2 types of affiliate programs out there.

The first type consists of BIG affiliate networks which offer you a chance to promote 100s or even 1000s of products/services (developed by different product owners). Examples: Rakuten, ShareASale, Maxbounty, Clickbank, JVZOO and more.
The second type consists of companies with their own affiliate programs which offer you a chance to promote their in-house products/services. Examples: Clickfunnels, Shopify, LiquidWeb, Infusionsoft, Amazon and more.

Just Google “affiliate programs” and you will get a huge list of programs where you can sign up and promote their products.

Just like the previous model, the key to succeeding with affiliate marketing lies in nailing down your niche, picking the right products and designing campaigns to promote them.

A lot of people (especially newbies) view affiliate marketing like a lottery machine where they try to promote any and every product hoping that something clicks.

This approach never works.

As we discussed before in one of the previous steps, building an online business is a PROCESS. You need to build, test it out in the market, optimize, test again, optimize again and so on till your business starts raking in the sales & profits like clockwork. The rewards are there for those who put in the right kind of efforts.

The best part about affiliate marketing is that it just allows you to be up and running fast.

You don’t have to create any products.
You don’t have to write hard core sales copy to sell products (as product owners would have created the sales letters & sales videos for you to promote)
You don’t have to deal with fulfillment and customer service
You can just grab your affiliate link, create a campaign and launch your business.

It’s a wonderful model but at the same time, it also has a few serious drawbacks:

Drawback 1 - Majority of the products in the affiliate marketing field are priced below $100 where you get to make 20% to 75% commissions on each sale.

Sometimes, even 100%. In the majority of the cases, you get paid only for the front end product. Which means if you are promoting a $47 or $97 product, you get paid commissions ONLY for that sale.

However, the REAL money is made on the backend where the product owner sells $1997 or $3997 product/service to your customers and keeps 100% of the sales (this is how some product owners are able to give you 100% commissions for selling their stuff).

The hardest part of a business is to GAIN a customer which is what you are doing in affiliate marketing. Once you generate a customer, it’s easier to sell the backend products which is what the product owner does without giving you any cut in those sales.

Drawback 2 - When you don’t get a cut in the backend sales, it’s NOT just about missing out on extra income.

In most cases, you won’t even be able to turn a profit. As we saw in one of the earlier steps, profiting from a $47 or $97 product is VERY VERY hard.

You need to be able to make $500 or $1000 or $3000 commissions to turn your advertising dollars into profits so if a product owner doesn’t give you that, your business struggles.

To be fair, there are affiliate products that pay out big commissions but it’s just that they are not that common.

Sure, you can build a profitable campaign promoting it but if tomorrow, the owner takes the product off the market or kills his affiliate program or ventures into a new business taking off his focus from his current one….what will you do that?

You would have bills to pay, kids to feed, a wife to please. You can’t depend on some random product and campaign for your income. That’s super risky.

Even in well established affiliate programs (like Maxbounty, Clickbank, Amazon), products are taken off, at which point you have to scramble to promote a different one.

So with all these drawbacks,

how do you build a profitable online

business with this model?

The thing about is that this model becomes an ABSOLUTE GOLDMINE once you breakeven on the costs it takes you to build an email list. Once you reach that stage, you can simply send out emails to your list (promoting different products) and rake in the money.

The catch is HOW do you breakeven on the email list building costs?

There are a couple of ways. The most obvious one is to choose affiliate products that pay you big commissions, so you can breakeven and make a profit.

If you are not able to find a great product that pays out big commissions, you can select a series of affiliate products (in the same niche) and promote them to your list in a sequential manner. Different people in your email list will resonate with different products, so the combined sales can help you reach the breakeven point, after which all of your future product promotions to your email list will be pure profits. This is easier said than done but it’s possible.

As you can see, traditional affiliate marketing is a tricky business, which is why I don’t recommend it as a standalone business. It can be one of the revenue sources for your existing business but not the main one. In fact, it’s a powerful revenue booster when used alongside your main business. I have promoted quite a few products to my email list as an affiliate and made a killing with it just by sending out a few emails to my list.

For full disclosure, there are people out there who have built thriving online businesses with traditional affiliate marketing. It’s possible to succeed but this model (as a standalone business) is volatile
