Webinars are an awesome marketing tool for a multitude of reasons. One of them being direct interaction with your webinar audience.

Unlike most other forms of communication in the digital environment, webinars give your target audience an opportunity to converse with the face behind the brand.

In doing so, they provide several benefits to you as a business owner, marketer, or an entrepreneur.

Mainly, they enable you to build and nurture a trust-based relationship with your webinar audience.

You also get to share your knowledge and expertise on the subject, thus positioning yourself as an authority in your field.

Furthermore, webinars allow you to hone in on your audience’s wants, needs, problems, goals, and pain points.

All the benefits aside, most people still have an aversion towards webinars. I’m guessing it’s mostly due to the fear of stepping out of their comfort zone.

Or, the feeling that their public skills might be lacking, so their presentation won’t be good and they’ll just embarrass themselves in front of potential customers.

And I’m not saying these fears aren’t justified. I was certainly nervous for the first dozen or so webinars I hosted.

But the thing is, you need to learn how to overcome these obstacles. It’s a shame to have such a powerful tool at your disposal, and to simply disregard it.

So, how can you fight the anxiety, clear the confusion, and build up the necessary confidence?

Well, you can start by following these 3 simple tips:

Drop The Word “Webinar” 

Sometimes, the word “webinar” itself can sound scary.

You might subconsciously believe it’s something complicated, and difficult to pull of.

Instead, think of it as having a chat with friends, family, or colleagues on Skype.

Webinars are actually quite similar to a Skype conference call.

Whether you’re using GoToWebinar, Google Hangouts, or Free Conference Call, the process is pretty much the same.

It’s just a bunch of people using the same software to tune in and listen to what you have to say.

The only real difference is that you’ll be using a pre-written script to deliver content to the audience.

It’s kind of like having a group coaching session. There’s no need to make it appear harder than it actually is.

So, drop the word webinar, and focus on what it is you’ll be doing – presenting valuable, relevant content to the webinar audience.

To start hosting a webinar you’ll need a couple of things:

  • A working microphone
  • A reliable internet connection
  • Webinar software
  • An audience

That’s all you have to worry about for now. Further down the line, you might be hosting more advanced webinars.

But, for now, this will suffice. If you have the technical requirements to run a video call, then you have everything you need to host a webinar.

Rehearse The Presentation

The worst thing you can do is show up to your own webinar completely unprepared.

There’ll be a lot of pauses, where you’ll have to stop to remind yourself what it is you should be talking about next.

And, your audience will be able to tell that you didn’t exactly plan the session out. Not to mention that they’ll be extremely annoyed with the constant “uhms”.

You’d rather want to avoid these awkward situations. And the best way to do it is by rehearsing the presentation.

In that regard, your first session doesn’t have to be in front of your audience.

You can practice hosting the webinar in front of your friends & colleagues first.

Then, depending on their feedback, you might adjust the presentation and, if necessary, work on improving your delivery.

Just remember, you don’t want to overdo it. If you rehearse the webinar too many times, to the point where you know every sentence by heart, you’ll sound robotic, monotonous, and as if you were reading off of a piece of paper.

Additionally, this will help you familiarize with the webinar software you opt for. And, you’ll also ensure that you’ve got the technical aspects taken care of.

A couple of things to pay attention to are:

  • Did you start the presentation on time?
  • Could attendees clearly hear you and see your screen?
  • Were you able to receive questions live and answer them?

Once you double-check everything to ensure it’s working properly, it’s time to bolster your confidence.

Mentally Prepare For The Q&A Part

Q&A on webinars is no joke. This is where your knowledge on the subject is “tested”, so to speak.

So, it’s no surprise that a lot of marketers experience the impostor syndrome when hosting webinars.

In short, this refers to the feeling that you’re not good enough and don’t deserve to be in the position you’re in.

 

Which is the complete opposite of the effect you want to have. You want to be perceived as an authority.

Hence, you need to be able to answer the audience’s questions with full confidence.

But, here’s the thing. They’ll either be asking questions related to the topic you’re covering on the webinar, or the offer you’ll be pitching.

This is all stuff you should be able to answer when someone wakes you in the middle of the night.

That said, you can fight that impostor feeling by preparing yourself for the Q&A.

After rehearsing with friends/colleagues, urge them to ask questions.

This way, you’ll at least have some idea what types of questions you can expect from your audience.

Of course, you should always thoroughly research the subject you’ll be covering.

But, that’s something you’ll need to do regardless, if you’re hoping to deliver value on the webinar.

Additionally, you can always ask attendees to send questions beforehand. Or, check out the questions your existing customers often ask.

In the event that you can’t provide an answer on the webinar, don’t panic. You can always say that you’re not sure, but you’ll let them know when you find out.

Just ask the person to leave you their email address, and send them the answer at a later time. It’s perfectly acceptable.

Have you ever tried hosting a webinar for your audience before? What was your experience like?

Webinars are one of my favorite ways to sell my audience on my products & services.

They’re my “secret weapon”, since I use them to promote $1,000 – $10k+ high ticket offers. And, they’ve been working exceptionally well so far for me.

However, I noticed something peculiar while hosting hundreds of webinars.

It’s that the audience sometimes feel a level of uneasiness during the presentation.

And it’s caused by them knowing that, although they’re receiving insanely valuable content for free… There’s bound to be a product pitch towards the end.

What Kind Of Impact Does This Have On The Attendees?

Although they won’t verbally express it, you can bet that most of them will start thinking:

“What’s this guy’s play? What is he trying to sell me?”

It’s no secret that this is how webinars work. I know it, you know it, your audience knows it.

Nobody’s going to go out of their way to make room for a webinar in their schedule, if they’re not getting something out of it.

From the hosts perspective, that’s an opportunity to pitch one of their products and services directly.

Apart from establishing themselves as an authority, and improving the relationship with their audience, obviously.

However, selling is still the primary focus. Nobody has to explicitly say it, everyone on the webinar is aware that this part is coming at some point.

That’s why I wholeheartedly believe that there is a right way, and a wrong way to sell on the webinar.

The wrong way being keeping your attendees in the dark.

Your offer shouldn’t be kept a mystery throughout the webinar.

It’ll just make the audience uneasy and anxious, because they have no idea what it is that you’ll be trying to sell them.

Fear might be a strong word here…

But, there’s always that creeping sense of dread, which comes from the fact that you might be hard selling them on something they’re not interested in.

 

And the problem with this is that you’re actually dissuading them from buying.

And you’re doing so before you even get to explain what the product/service actually is.

Now, how does this problem arise, in the first place?

The Misconception About The Webinar Offer

The problem is a result of a common misconception about the webinar offer.

Too many people believe that they shouldn’t mention the offer before the pitch itself.

Which obviously isn’t the optimal approach, if you’re aware of the “webinar anxiety” attendees experience.

Hence, instead of briefly explaining the offer at the beginning of the presentation, they do the complete opposite.

They’re doing everything in their power to make the offer a “secret”. Which is ridiculous, if you ask me.

Like I said, pretty much everyone knows that there’s going to be an offer at some point.

So, what do you gain from keeping the offer a secret? Absolutely nothing.

In fact, you’re only losing the interest of the attendees.

They’ll be focused on trying to figure out what the offer is, rather than paying close attention to the content you’re sharing on the presentation.

Even if that’s not the case, the transition between valuable, relevant content and a hard pitch isn’t exactly smooth.

I’ve said this a countless times before… Nobody, and I mean nobodylikes having products “shoved down their throat”.

Sadly, that’s exactly what the vast majority of people do on their webinars. But, just stop for a second and think about how it looks from an attendee’s perspective.

You’re being friendly, helpful, and informative throughout the entire presentation… And than BOOM! All of a sudden you turn into a sleazy salesman that won’t take no for an answer.

Most people won’t take kindly to this sudden change in demeanor.

Not to mention that, if you’ve waited till the last moment to start pitching… You aren’t exactly giving the prospects enough time to make an informed decision.

And, what’s to stop them from leaving the webinar once the pitch starts?

They’ve already consumed all the content…

The Right Way To Sell On A Webinar

The solution to this problem practically presents itself.

If the problem arises from the audience not knowing about the offer, the answer is obvious.

You should tell them about the offer up front. Ideally, you want to briefly explain what it’s about, during the introduction segment.

Start by introducing yourself and your company. Then, talk about the topics you’ll be covering on the webinar.

And lastly, before you dive in, simply introduce the offer to put the attendees’ minds at ease.

You don’t have to go into much detail. At the start, it’s enough to just tell them what the product is and what it can do for them.

You’ll have plenty of time to thoroughly explain it later.

A few sentences will suffice, for now. It’s enough to give the audience a general idea of what the offer is.

Then, they’ll be ready for it once you’ve gotten to the pitch.

They won’t be caught off guard, and those people who are interested to learn more about it will surely stick around to hear what you have to say.

This will alleviate their anxiety, and in turn – boost your sales!

Simply telling your attendees what you’re selling at the beginning of the webinar doesn’t just erase anxiety, it boosts sales.

The More Opportunities You Give Them To Buy, The More Sales You’ll Accrue

This is another reason why you want to introduce your offer both at the start and end of the webinar.

You’re doubling the chances that the audience will check it out, and potentially buy it.

By also introducing your offer at the start, you are:

  1. Eliminating offer anxiety.Attendees can now pay full attention to the content, without worrying about what the offer is and when you’ll start pitching it.
  2. Showing respect for the audience.It shows that you respect the customers and value your time. You’re not insulting their intelligence by pretending that there’s no offer.
  3. Giving them time to deliberate. By introducing the offer at the beginning, you’re essentially giving them the duration of the entire webinar to think it through and decide whether it’s something that piques their interest.
  4. Increasing your chances of closing sales. After you’ve introduced the offer, you can mention it at any point during the webinar. By relating it to the content, you’re making sure it stays top of mind, and emphasizing on it’s importance – thus, boosting your chances of closing sales.
  5. Alleviating potential sticker shock. This is particularly true for high ticket offers. People might be dumbfounded when they hear the price of couple hundred (or thousand) dollars for your high ticket product/service. However, if you mention it at the beginning, you have the rest of the webinar to showcase its value. This will help justify the high price, and it won’t come as a shock to the audience.

Final Thoughts

There you have it – a single, simple tweak that will help you sell way more on your webinars.

No, I don’t mean your family, friends, and colleagues…

You’ll find the bulk of your webinar attendees among your existing audience.

If you’re wondering why, it’s because they are already interested in your business, and are consuming your content.

It’s a lot easier (and much more affordable) to convince your subscribers and existing customers to watch your webinar, then it is to get cold leads to register for it.

Depending on the content you previously created and shared with your audience, you’ll have several options at your disposal:

· Social Media – If you have business accounts on various social media platforms, and a decent following, make sure you notify them that you’ll be hosting a webinar soon! Don’t just do a single Facebook post. Promote your even multiple times on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and all other social websites your audience is active on.

· Your Blog – If you have a blog, and are regularly posting fresh content, it can be a great source of traffic for your webinar. You can create a dedicated post, announcing the event and talking about all the topics you’ll be covering. Alternatively, you can create a banner to promote the event on the blog and attract webinar attendees that way.

That’s because you’ve already seen in on this very website. Heck, you’ve might have already registered.

My point is, I went out of my way and redesigned my website. I did this to ensure the call-to-action to register for my webinar is clearly visible immediately after someone lands on my website’s homepage.

And if you want to drive traffic to your webinar and get more people to attend, you need to do the same.

Your website is a powerful promotional tool that should not be overlooked.

It can be used to give your new visitors an opportunity to immediately register their spot. They don’t even have to click any links or leave the website.

Simultaneously, whenever a returning visitor loads your homepage, they are immediately reminded of the amazing free event that you’re hosting.

Take Full Advantage Of Popups

It’s important to understand that your target audience is often indecisive.

The truth is, not a huge percentage of people will actually register for the webinar the first time they come across your registration page.

So, how do you convince them to go from visitors to webinar attendees?

You need to give them multiple opportunities to claim their spot on the webinar.

A great way to do this is by adding exit-intent popups to your website and your registration page.

Popups use Javascript and the web browser to track the user’s mouse movement on your page. Thus, they can show a special offer whenever the user intends to leave the page.

Here’s an example of a popup I’m currently using:

Popups Give Your Audience A Second Shot At Registering

Basically, instead of losing a potential registrant, you can show them a small popup window that allows them to simply enter their name & email and secure their spot on the webinar.

You want to use all the tools you have available to get as many people to register as humanly possible, and popups are amongest the most effective when it comes to maximizing conversions.

Let Your Audience Share Your Event

When someone gets excited about the amazing content you’ll be sharing, they’ll register for the webinar. Plus, there’s also a good chance they’ll tell others about it.

Your job is to make that as simple as possible. Allowing registrants to quickly and easily share your webinar with their friends on social media.

Add social media buttons after they register for the webinar. Let them spread the news by liking your event on Facebook, tweeting about it, and sharing it on Google+.

Word-of-mouth is still one of the most powerful forms of advertising. Moreover, people are much more inclined to register for your webinar if a friend recommended it.

Some registrants will share your webinar automatically, while others might need a bit more convincing.

This doesn’t mean you have to be sleazy or pushy. You can simply add a line of copy above the social buttons, telling them something along the lines of:

“Let Your Friends Know About This Amazing Webinar!”

If you do this, I’m convinced the number of your webinar attendees will soar.

Create An Email Campaign To Promote The Webinar

Like I said, you need to fully commit to your webinar to get the desired results.

That includes creating a new email campaign and writing multiple compelling promotional emails.

Sending a single email to let your subscribers know that you’re hosting a webinar simply isn’t enough.

They might not see it in the heap of emails they get in their inbox every single day. Likewise, they might open it late and completely miss out on the webinar.

Besides, even if a subscriber opens an email, they might need a bit more convincing before they register.

Or they might put it off and simply forget about it…

That’s why you need to have a comprehensive campaign promoting your webinar.

You need to send at least 2-3 emails a week or two leading up to the event.

You should approach these emails the same way you would approach an email promoting one of your paid offers.

They can’t just simply say “I’m hosting a webinar, click here to register”.

Webinar promotion emails need to be compelling and persuasive. They need to spark the reader’s interest and get them excited to attend the webinar.

The best way to do this is to give them an overview of the content you’ll be sharing. Focus on the main benefits they’ll receive by attending the webinar.

However, your job doesn’t stop there. After the person registers for the webinar, you need to make sure that they actually show up.

So, write a few emails that will remind them that they registered for the webinar. And, of course, tell them exactly when they need to tune in.

You should have 2 reminder emails at the very least, one a day before the event, and one an hour before the webinar goes live.

Don’t Forget The “Thank You” Page

Another great way to attract more webinar attendees is to make use of the “Thank You” page.

Apart from the standard “thank you” message, you can also include a section with a call-to-action for your webinar.

This is an extremely effective way to promote the webinar. You’re giving new subscribers an opportunity to get valuable content right off the bat, free of charge.

In order for your webinars to produce the desired results and convert leads into customers, you need to deliver relevant, valuable content in an engaging and convincing manner. This means you must keep your audience engaged throughout the presentation.

If you present the webinar in a monotone voice and seem disinterested during the vent, people will get bored.

They’ll likely leave the presentation before you even get to the part where you promote your offer.

A vital skill you need to possess, if your want to take full advantage of webinars, is keeping your audience engaged and entertained throughout the entire presentation.

If you’re not an experienced public speaker, this might seem like a daunting task. However, keeping the audience engaged isn’t as difficult as you might imagine.

I want to share with you a couple of tips that will help you spark the interest of your webinar participants and have them clinging to your every word.

So, let’s jump right in and take a look at these 5 tips for keeping your webinar audience engaged during the presentation:

Tip #1 – Don’t Skip The Introduction

Keep in mind that your webinar audience consists of various types of viewers. They’ve all come to the presentation through all your different marketing channels.

Your content needs to keep all of your audience engaged, not just one portion.

Some of the attendees will likely be your existing subscribers. This group is already familiar with your business.

A portion of the attendees will be people who frequently visit your blog. They’ll also have a good idea of what your business is all about.

Others might have simply stumbled across one of your ads… They might have decided to register because they find the topic you’re covering very interesting.

For this group, this will be the first time they come in contact with you and your business. Hence, proper introductions are in order.

You need to make sure that the people you’re speaking to on the webinar are aware that you’re an expert on the subject matter.

You need to give them a reason why they should listen and trust you. 

The best way to accomplish this is to use the introductory part of the webinar to present your qualifications and show your personality.

Qualifications are vital for instilling trust in your audience. Tell them where your knowledge and experience comes from, who you’ve worked with in the past, and what results you’ve accomplished for your clients by sharing a couple of testimonials.

Here’s an example from one of my webinars:

If possible, use the introduction to also give the audience a sense of who you are as a person. Share a personal story of your past struggles with the same problem, or the journey you took to get to where you are today.

Show them that you’re not just a business, but a real person trying to connect with other people and help them solve their problems or reach their goals.

After the introduction, you want to make sure that the audience knows exactly what they can expect to learn on the webinar – so tell them what topics you’re going to cover.

This can be a single slide that briefly explains the main topics of the webinar.

Remember, you don’t want to make it sound like you’re reading from a textbook. Instead, focus on the benefits they’ll receive by learning about each of these topics.

This will ensure that they stick around and pay close attention throughout the presentation, to find out more about all of these interesting topics.

Tip #2 – Prepare, But Don’t Over-Prepare

Regardless of how well you think you know the topic you’ll be covering on the webinar, coming to the event unprepared is always a bad idea.

Lack of preparation is quite easy to spot from the viewer’s perspective. For instance, you’ll often have to pause in order to figure out what you should be talking about next.

Pausing every 5 minutes to do so will unnecessarily prolong the presentation. And, more often than not, the audience will find the constant pauses and “umms” quite annoying.

To keep the audience engaged, you need to properly prepare for the presentation. Rehearse it until you’re confident that you know exactly what you’ll be talking about.

Go through the slide deck multiple times and jot down notes on all the major talking points. If there are certain areas where you notice you don’t sound confident and convincing, work on them a bit more. Also, write down bullets to remind you of all everything you want to talk about.

You can always check just how engaging the presentation is by holding it to a group of friends and colleagues.

Think of it as a test run. Ask for their feedback and opinions on areas they believe you can improve on.

That said, be careful not to overdo it…

You don’t want to over-prepare for the presentation by rehearsing it too many times.

It will sound robotic and monotonous. It leaves the impression that all you’re doing is reading from a piece of paper.

The key to having an engaging and interested webinar is to find that perfect balance.

You want to sound like you know exactly what you’re talking about. Simultaneously, you don’t want the presentation to come off as too rehearsed.

Tip #3 – Proper Intonation Is Key

If you’re not paying attention to proper intonation, and are using the same tone of voice throughout the entire presentation, you risk putting your prospects to sleep.

Regardless of how interesting the content is, if there is no energy and liveliness behind the voice that’s presenting it, people will start to get bored and will easily lose focus.

Unlike in conversation, where the tone of voice changes constantly due to the fact that multiple people are speaking, on the webinar YOU will be the one doing all the talking.

That’s why you need to make sure that you’re using a dynamic voice to maintain the audience’s attentiveness and keep the viewers entertained.

Keep the audience engaged by putting emphasis on certain words and phrases while talking. This helps highlight their importance and will result in constant changes in your tone of voice.

You can do so by slowing down when saying certain words you want to draw the audience’s attention to, adding high-pitched words to your sentences, or simply pronouncing them louder.

This method is often used in writing as well, where certain words are emphasized (bold, italic, underlined) to signal to the reader what they need to pay close attention to and also break up the standard flow of the text, making it feel more dynamic.

Tip #4 – Don’t Rush It

When we’re under a lot of stress, we typically want to rush through the stressful situation and get it over with as quickly as possible.

This is often the case with webinars, when a speaker feels nervous and makes the mistake of rushing through the presentation.

Another reason why people try to jam a ton of information in as little time as possible is because they believe their audience has an extremely limited attention span, and that they have a specific amount of time to work with.

But here’s the thing – if someone is genuinely interested in what you have to say, they won’t suddenly stop paying attention after 5, 10, or 15 minutes.

Think about it for a moment. If we were indeed incapable of paying attention to something for an extended period of time, things like movies wouldn’t even exist (or would be short, 15-minute films)…

When you try and rush through the webinar, you’re not doing anyone a favor. Your audience will have a hard time understanding the message that you’re trying to convey, and will likely leave the webinar confused and disinterested in your business and the offer you promoted.

Instead, you should speak at a natural, steady pace, and occasionally pause to take a breather or a sip of water. The audience won’t mind it.

In fact, pausing between sentences will actually help change the tone of your voice, and signal to the audience that you’re about to say something important that they should pay close attention to.

Tip #5 – Watch Your Own Webinar

Live webinars are tricky because they leave no room for error. You can’t rely on your editing skills to edit out the parts that didn’t turn out like you wanted.

There are no second tries. You can’t simply re-record something you don’t like.

You have to nail everything on the first try. However, being a good presenter is a skill. And, like all other skills in life, it requires a lot of practice to perfect.

The best way to improve your presentations is to learn from yourself and others that are really good at it.

First, make sure you actually watch your own webinars, and take note of the areas you can improve on.

Put yourself in the viewer’s perspective and ask yourself if you sound convincing. Are you presenting the content in an engaging manner?

If you can’t sit through your own presentation, how can you expect to have the audience engaged throughout the webinar?

Therefore, when re-watching your webinars, try to figure out how you can formulate sentences differently.

Try to spark the viewer’s interest, while still getting the same message across.

Say you’ve just hosted an amazing live webinar.

The presentation was stellar and your content was well-received.

You’ve managed to engage the audience, and made a dozen or so sales.

It was a huge success and you feel great. So, what’s the next step?

Should you simply archive the webinar, write up a few follow-up emails, and call it a day?

Definitely not. Instead, you want to maximize the value you’re getting out of your webinar.

How? Easy – by repurposing webinar content you already created.

Don’t let the terminology confuse you. I’m simply referring to using the content from your live webinar to create new, interesting content. 

Repurposing webinar content also lets you deliver quality content (that you know your prospects enjoy) to a wider audience.

This, for me, is the definition of working smarter, not harder.

Instead of investing time and effort to create new content from scratch…

Turn It Into A Blog Post (Or Several Blog Posts)

If you covered multiple topics or areas on your webinar, you’ve probably already divided the presentation into smaller chunks that cover a specific topic.

Putting the introduction and the close aside, you should still have at least 30 minutes of great content. This can be easily turned into great blog posts.

In fact, repurposing webinar content into an amazing blog post should be a breeze.

The first thing you’ll need is a transcript of your webinar. If you had a complete script you followed for the presentation, you can use that as well.

Simply go through what you talked about on the webinar. Then, choose a few topics that your audience found the most interesting.

Now, it’s important to understand that you can’t simply copy & paste a part of your webinar, give it a title, and call it a blog post.

You need to get creative. Think about how you can restructure the content from the webinar into something useful and interesting.

For example, you can create a post that expands on a certain topic. Or perhaps one that provides a detailed explanation of a process you covered on the webinar.

You can also give them a short summary of the entire webinar.

There’s a good chance some people registered for it, but, for some reason, weren’t able to attend.

What I mean by this is that, it allows you to create new content around the questions they asked on the webinar.

The Q&A portion of the webinar is extremely useful, since it gives you valuable insights into your audience’s biggest problems and concerns.

Creating content that addresses those issues and provides a solution will pretty much guarantee engagement.

It’ll also elevate you in the eyes of your target audience.

There are multiple ways to leverage the Q&A from your webinars. Here are a few:

  •       Expand the FAQ page on your website –Add the questions you received on the webinar on your site’s FAQ page. If a question arose multiple times during the presentation, your website visitors are probably wondering the same things. Don’t wait for them to contact you with the question – give them the answer right away.
  •       Create an FAQ blog post – Some questions are more difficult to answer than others, and might require a more detailed explanation. You can use those questions and expand on the answers you provided on the webinar. The blog post should, therefore, provide a comprehensive answer to each individual question.
  •       Enhance your website copy – If a lot of people on the webinar felt they needed additional explanation regarding your products or services, you might want to work on your website copy to make it 100% clear what it is you’re offering.

Turn Your Presentation Into A SlideShare

You should already have a script and a PowerPoint presentation from your webinar… So, creating a SlideShare should be a breeze.

All you need to do is slightly alter the presentation you used for the webinar.

The people that attended the webinar will have a great resource to fall back on.

Who knows, you might choose to offer the archived webinar on-demand in the future.

That way, you’re giving your prospects an additional incentive to opt-in and watch the webinar.

Bottom line, you can use the existing script and slides to create a powerful new lead-generation tool with minimum effort.

Create An Infographic

Infographics are super-cool. They give your audience all the necessary information in a visually appealing form.

And, they can consume this valuable content in a matter of minutes.

They can also save and use the infographics for future reference.

Furthermore, they’re much easier to share than eBooks or PDF reports, for example.

When used as a lead magnet, they can and will generate tons of qualified traffic.

The problem is, infographics take a lot of time to create.

You need to research to find all the relevant information, facts, and stats… You also have to come up with the right visuals.

And then, you need to combine the two into a great infographic.

Given the amount of research and preparation that goes into creating great content for the webinar, you should already have everything you need to create an infographic.

Slide decks and infographics are fairly similar. They both deliver useful information in a short and simple format that’s easy to consume.

If you already have awesome slides, transforming them into an infographic will be a breeze.

You can rely on one of the free online tools like Canva or Infogram.

Upload your slides, and use a simple drag & drop menu to create stunning infographics in a flash.

Quick Tip: You don’t have to jam all the slides into a single infographic. If the content is split into multiple topics, create an infographic for each!

Use Facts, Quotes, And Stats To Create Social Posts

The audience on your webinar really liked a fact, quote, or stat you shared with them? Then, why not share it with ALL of your audience on your social media profiles?

Repurposing webinar content gives you that opportunity.

Simply watch your webinar recording, and find an interesting, relevant, useful stat or a quote your audience responded to well, and use it to create an engaging post on Facebook or Twitter, for example.

Just make sure it’s aligned with your brand and previous social media campaigns, and don’t forget to include your website and social media handles in the post.

That’s why I believe repurposing webinar content is so awesome. You get to create several amazing pieces of content, without sweating your brow!

In this case, you simply need to expand on the topics covered in your webinar to create a comprehensive resource that goes into a bit more detail and provides additional information your audience will find useful.

You can even combine the content from multiple webinars and several blog posts, and create a step-by-step guide the audience can follow when implementing what you teach.

How-to guides and PDF reports are extremely effective lead magnets. Therefore, you should definitely include them in your overall marketing strategy.

Educational videos are an excellent way to deliver engaging content to your audience.

They’re also extremely effective when it comes to extending your reach and generating leads for your business.

To convert your webinar into a great video series, you can simply edit the footage to present the most useful information you shared on the webinar.

Then, just re-record the audio to align it with new visuals.

You can create multiple videos from a single live webinar and use them as a lead magnet.

Alternatively, you can always share them with your email subscribers and social media followers to boost engagement.

For example, you can create a landing page featuring one of the videos as the first in the short series. Then, you can ask the prospects to enter their name and email to get the follow-up videos directly to their inbox.

You shouldn’t just create and host webinars out of the blue. They take a considerable amount of time, effort, planning, promotion, and content creation to pull off.

Don’t get me wrong…

Hosting gotowebinars can be a valuable asset when it comes to boosting audience engagement, generating qualified leads, and closing sales.

However, there’s a time and place for everything. Before you decide when to host a webinar, you need to think about where your business is at the moment and what goal you want to accomplish with the webinar.

Let’s put things into perspective. Imagine if I covered this exact same topic on an hour-long webinar. Would you sit through the entire presentation to learn when you should host a webinar? My guess is – probably not.

What I’m saying is that if a certain topic doesn’t require an hour to explain, it’s better to rely on a different type of content, which requires less time and effort to create (like a blog post, Infographic, free PDf, etc.), but still gets your message across.

Your Content Isn’t Interactive

A webinar’s strong suit is the ability to have the audience interact with you and the content you’re presenting.

If, however, your content amounts to huge chunks of texts on the slides or a heavy educational piece, you might want to reconsider delivering it through a webinar.Your audience needs to be engaged and attentive throughout the entire presentation, and boring content simply won’t do the trick.

It might still hold a ton of useful information, in which case you’re better off presenting it as a written piece people can go through at their own pace.

You’re Targeting A Global Audience

Webinars require people to tune in at the exact time and date, in order to join the presentation. Over the past years video has become a dominant force among internet users (you can see the stats by statista.com below). This is why a lot of entrepreneurs do not hesitate to present and promote their product or content via gotowebinars.

Unless you’re running automated webinars, it’s next-to-impossible to figure out a time that would work for people in all the different time zones.
